Computer Meeting January 3, 2012

Our Instructors will be preparing for the Sessions that start on January 17, 2012.

They will be setting up in a table session format for a course of their choice and will be testing skills with fellow group members who are present.

Please join in with one of the Instructors.

8. Facebook

Skye and Facebook are basic in presenting a Video and doing a Sign Up.

Computer Meeting December 20, 2011

Hi Everyone!

Merry Christmas!

No Computer Group Meeting on December 20th 2011!

Please complete the Subject Sign up Sheets and return them to the Senior Center. We have a big scheduling project to create for the new small group format by Jan 17, 2012. Early return of the form will secure your seat. Posting the schedule will be ASAP.

We will reconvene on December 27th 

Instructors will be testing the new teaching model, so join in to help in the development.

Computer Group Meeting December 13, 2011

I know the Holidays are approaching and many will not be here for the next three weeks.

The Plan is to start the new teaching program on January 17, 2012.

For those Volunteer Instructors that attend this week. it will be an opportunity to experiment with the new teaching model, and try it on a student or two..

Attached are "Drafts" of Instruction Outlines for Basics, Gmail and Internet. 

Also is the Draft of the Student Subject Selection Sheet being developed.

Computer Group Meeting December 6, 2011

  

1. We are doing an experiment this week! (One on Four)

   G-Mail  Special Tutoring by Adrienne Caruso.

     Participants:   (Call 860-350-3018 if you cannot be there)

We will setup a long table with 2 participants on each side and Adrienne at the end.

A Monitor from the Computer Room will be at the other end of the table to view Adrienne's computer. 

Hopefully this format can lead to good instruction, with questions and answers during the session. 

2. The rest of the attendees at the meeting 

We will be testing their software installation of the HP 8500 network printer from last week. 

Bring a Picture that you would like to Scan. All of the SC laptops have the software installed and should be ready to use.

1. Updating AVG Free 2011 to AVG Free 2012 (Virus Protection) for your Personal Laptop and Senior Center Laptops.

2. Installing the SC Network 8500 printer (with Disk) on your Laptop and SC Laptops. 

3. Updating Adobe Reader and Windows 7.

4. Resolving computer issues and Q & A session.

5. Discussing future sessions.

Session 2 on "Word 2007"

1. Install the BWSC network printer on your Laptop.

2. Change your Browser to "Explorer".

3. Follow the online training on the screen for "Create your 

    First Document".

4. Change your Browser back to "Google Chrome".

5. Do Exercise 3 on pages 11 and 12 in the Manual

6. Make a Letter Head with a picture.

7. Do Exercise 4 on pages 13 and 14 in the Manual and

    Create your own letter or one from a previously saved letter. 

8. Print your letter.

Computer Group Meeting November 1, 2011

Hi Gang,

We will start the meeting by creating several videos using my camera and adding them to my "Computer Class" folder.

The folder will be copied to a flash drive and the added to each computer being used for class.

We can then produce a "Movie" with pictures, videos and some audio.

This should be fun!

1.  Select all the "Pictures" and "Videos" from the "Computer Class " folder after we add the videos.

2. Add the "Title" - Computer Training in Bridgewater.

3. Using the "Credits" feature, enter your name, other members and anything 

      else you want listed at the end

4. Play your "Movie" as you continue editing.

5. Trim the video (Page 14) if necessary to perfect.

6. Use "Save As" and name your Movie.

7. E-mail to someone if you like. We may do this later.

8. Burn a DVD.

Computer Group Meeting September 19, 2011

The Email Classes will be Monday and Tuesday next week at 10:00 AM.

The following week will be Internet on Tuesday 9/27/11 at 10: AM. and the following Tuesday 10/4/11 at 10:00 AM

No more Monday Classes after 9/19/11.

The reason is that most of us want one day a week and that will be Tuesdays.
