Computer Group Summer Activity

Our weekly Computer Group meetings will continue on Tuesdays from 10:00 AM. to Noon

All Seniors welcome to come to any session of any week.

Activity will consist of the following small groups (1 to 6) covering:

1.     Basic Fundamentals.
2.     G-Mail.
3.     Photo Gallery.
4.     Other Subjects will be added as necessary.

The participants will continue the mastery of the Mouse, practicing E-Mailing and managing Pictures and files.  Our Coaches have shown interest in leading these teaching sessions as Tutors. The goal will be to help improve computer skills. 



 Cleanup Your PC

1. Update the Windows Operating System to current.
2. Install AVG (Free) Virus Protection.
3. Run PC Analyzer to clean and defrag the Hard Drive.
4. Install Adobe Reader
5. Remove old Programs and Files as you direct.
6. Create Icons for the Desktop for starting programs.

Donation of $25.00 to “BW Senior Center CG” is required.


Call the Center at 860-355-3090 to get on the list.


Only need to bring the CPU, no Monitor, Keyboard or Wires.


Modernize the PC 
  1. Update the Windows Operating System to Windows 7.
   2. Install Home and Student 7 (Word, Excel, Power Point and One Note.
   3. Install a Wireless Mouse.

Donation of $100.00 to “BW Senior Center CG” is required.


Call the Center at 860-355-3090 to get on the list. (Limited).

Computer Group Activity for the Summer

Our weekly Computer Group meetings will continue on Tuesdays from 10:00 AM. to Noon.

All Seniors are welcome to attend as they desire. (No Experience Necessary)

Activity will consist of the following small groups (1 to 6) covering:
1.     Basic Fundamentals.
2.     G-Mail.
3.     Photo Gallery.
4.     Other Subjects will be added as necessary.

Locations:
1.     Group of 1 or 2 with Laptops at a table in the Main Room.
2.     Group of 2 to 4 with Laptops and display on the TV in the Front Room.
3.     Group of 4 to 6 with Laptops and display on the TV in the Main Room.

The participants will continue the mastery of the mouse, practicing E-Mailing and managing Pictures and files.

 Coaches who have shown interest in leading these teaching sessions include Ed Wainwright, Adrienne Caruso, Jim Evans and Wanda Heaney. Certainly the smaller group or a one on one can be done by many more of our members in the Main Room. The goal will be to help improve computer skills.

Session 2 on "Internet" May 16th


1Searching for People and Business addresses and 
    phone numbers.
2. Searching for Restaurants and Business locations.
3. Finding NOAA, Epicurious and LL Bean.
4. Visiting different sites on the Net.
5. Setting up a Pay Pal Account.
6. How to Buy or Bid on E-Bay.
7. Security on the Internet.




Session 2 on "Word 2007" May 17th

1. Do Exercise 3 on pages 11 and 12 in the Manual 
.
2. Create your own letter from a previously saved letter. 
3. Follow the online training on the screen for "Create your 
    first Document".
4Do Exercise 4 on pages 13 and 14 in the Manual and
    create your own letter from a previously saved letter. 
4. Make a Letter Head with a picture.
5. Installing a printer and printing your letter.

Start thinking of subjects for our weekly meetings starting next week and E-Mail me what you would like to review.

6. Visiting different sites on the Net.
7. Purchasing on Item on a Web site.
8. Using E-Bay and Pay Pal.




Session 1 on "Word 2007" May 10th

1. Review Tabs- Home, Insert and Layouts.
2. The Clipboard, Fonts, Paragraphs and Styles.
3. Documents.
4. Save As.
5. Files.
6. Headers and Footers.

7. The new Help Tab.
