Computer Group Meeting July 26, 2011

This week we will continue with Picasa 3.8.

Last week the problem of displaying the pictures from the E-Mail will be explained.

We can proceed to examine Picasa and develop the Manual for the fall program.

Interests in other subjects should be brought up.

I may be a little late. Driving Granddaughter to the Prudy's train station.

Please help Jim with the set up.

Computer Group Meeting July 19, 2011

We will set up the projector, screen, the 2 rectangular tables and 1 round table.

Our session will continue on Picasa 3.8.

All of the Center laptops have the Picasa 3.8 software installed.

Jim Evans, who has used Picasa will lead us in it's use.

1. Editing Photos manually and automatic.

2. Cropping.

3. Slide shows.

4. Sharing and E-Mailing.

We will continue working on Picasa 3.8.

The "Let's get started" write up in "Help" will be reviewed for ideas for an updated Picasa Manual.

Based on attendance, we will set up the room.

If Jim Evans is present, he can give an overview of the important features of Picasa.

 

Computer Group Meeting July 5, 2011

In the beginning of 2010 we were using Google's Picasa 3.5 for our instruction classes on photos. We followed the SeniorNet suggestion to change to Microsoft's Photo Gallery and Movie Maker and stopped using Picasa.

After last week's meeting on Photo file management. Art and I re-evaluated the new Picasa 3.8 and found so many improvements that we will be adding it back to our sessions in the fall and updating the old Manual. This will give you the option to use either or both.

The setup this week will be the 2 rectangle tables at one round table with the screen and projector.

Hi Gang,

We will set up with the 2 rectangle tables together and one round table at the end. 

A monitor will be brought in from the computer room. This worked OK last week.

Agenda:  Understanding and Managing Folders and Files

Documents:

1. Saving documents in Word, Excel, Power Point.

2. Naming Files. 

3. File extensions. 

4. Steering files to folders and new folders.

5. Managing pictures after downloading.

Computer Group Meeting June 21, 2011

Good to be back.

Hope you enjoyed having two weeks off and are ready to come next week.

At 10:00 AM we will have a demonstration of the use of the "Snipping Tool".

What is a Snipping Tool?

It gives you the ability to create a picture from anything on your screen. See attached from the Help page.

How do I get to it?

Click- Start, All Programs, Accessories, and Snipping Tool.

Computer Group Meetings June 7 and June 14, 2011 are Cancelled

Our Meetings for the next two weeks are cancelled. We are going on Vacation.

I had hoped that Coaching would continue for the coming weeks, but that did not work out.
