Computer Meeting December 20, 2011

Hi Everyone!

Merry Christmas!

No Computer Group Meeting on December 20th 2011!

Please complete the Subject Sign up Sheets and return them to the Senior Center. We have a big scheduling project to create for the new small group format by Jan 17, 2012. Early return of the form will secure your seat. Posting the schedule will be ASAP.

We will reconvene on December 27th 

Instructors will be testing the new teaching model, so join in to help in the development.

Computer Group Meeting December 13, 2011

I know the Holidays are approaching and many will not be here for the next three weeks.

The Plan is to start the new teaching program on January 17, 2012.

For those Volunteer Instructors that attend this week. it will be an opportunity to experiment with the new teaching model, and try it on a student or two..

Attached are "Drafts" of Instruction Outlines for Basics, Gmail and Internet. 

Also is the Draft of the Student Subject Selection Sheet being developed.

Computer Group Meeting December 6, 2011

  

1. We are doing an experiment this week! (One on Four)

   G-Mail  Special Tutoring by Adrienne Caruso.

     Participants:   (Call 860-350-3018 if you cannot be there)

        Jim Rooney

We will setup a long table with 2 participants on each side and Adrienne at the end.

A Monitor from the Computer Room will be at the other end of the table to view Adrienne's computer. 

Hopefully this format can lead to good instruction, with questions and answers during the session. 

2. The rest of the attendees at the meeting 

We will be testing their software installation of the HP 8500 network printer from last week. 

Bring a Picture that you would like to Scan. All of the SC laptops have the software installed and should be ready to use.

Computer Group Meeting November 29, 2011

Here is the Agenda for this week.

1. Updating AVG Free 2011 to AVG Free 2012 (Virus Protection) for your Personal Laptop and Senior Center Laptops.

2. Installing the SC Network 8500 printer (with Disk) on your Laptop and SC Laptops. 

3. Updating Adobe Reader and Windows 7.

4. Resolving computer issues and Q & A session.

5. Discussing future sessions.

Computer Group Meeting November 22, 2011

Session 2 on "Word 2007"

1. Install the BWSC network printer on your Laptop.

2. Change your Browser to "Explorer".

3. Follow the online training on the screen for "Create your 

    First Document".

4. Change your Browser back to "Google Chrome".

5. Do Exercise 3 on pages 11 and 12 in the Manual

6. Make a Letter Head with a picture.

7. Do Exercise 4 on pages 13 and 14 in the Manual and

    Create your own letter or one from a previously saved letter. 

8. Print your letter.
